Caracas, Dec 17 (Prensa Latina) President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, inaugurated today the 2nd Extraordinary Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the People of Our America (ALBA)-Petrocaribe, to evaluate actions for the regional integration.

The head of State extolled the bloc has already gone beyond the economic and political spheres to become a really humanitarian mechanism in the area.

Maduro referred to the option of forming an economic zone ALBA-Petrocaribe and the Common Market of the South (Mercosur) to present a proposal in the next summit of the South American entity.

In that sense, he remembered the three integration schemes sum 23 Latin American nations and 408 million 

Inhabitants, distributed in 13 million 260 thousand square kilometers.

Referring to the economy, he stressed that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounts to three trillions 887 billion dollars, something like the fourth economy in the world, added Maduro.

The venue groups this Tuesday delegations of 20 countries, with the essential objective of advancing to the creation of a complementary economic zone.

Petrocaribe, created in 2006, is formed by Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Venezuela.

ALBA is formed by Venezuela, Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Dominica, St. Lucía, Ecuador, St. Vincent and Grenadines and Antigua and Barbuda.
