Toronto, Saturday 26 of July in the city downtown core, in front of the Provincial Parliament, the largest demonstration in the history of the city supporting the Palestinian cause and its people. It is estimated that over 10.000 people participated. They came from different cities in the province of Ontario. The demonstration had the endorsement of 17 people’s organizations, such as labor movement, students, professors, community organizations, tenants associations etc.. People of all races and faiths, including Jews that reject the policies of a Zionist fascist government in Israel.
The demonstrators carry numerous signs and posters denouncing the war crimes committed against a civilian population with over a thousand people killed, including a high percentage of children and women. In the demonstration you could see entire families loudly rejecting the war of aggression and the loss of Palestinian lives. The demonstration started in the Provincial Parliament and ended in front of the US Consulate, where thousands of voices chanted “Free, free, Palestine” and “Viva, Viva Palestina”
Prior to the demonstration, a vigil was held in the vicinity of the Israeli consulate, from Thursday the 24 until Saturday 26 9 AM. Similarly, there were demonstrations held in front of the Israeli consulate in the previous two weeks. More massive demonstrations are being planned in the days ahead, the mobilizations will continue denouncing the atrocities committed by Israel Zionist leaders against Palestine and achieve peace with justice long denied.
